Paris Hilton Goes Back to Jail!

The current DUI trend among rich and famous perpetual party girls is extremely disturbing. Does partying like a rockstar entail driving with a suspended license, driving under the influence, and committing other traffic violations?

We all know and understand that girls like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and Nicole Richie enjoy socializing and partying with friends. It is widely understood that partying often involves drinking.

What most of us do not understand is why these rich party girls are risking their lives and the lives of others by driving under the influence. They have the money and resources to hire a driver to take them anywhere they want to go. They could party themselves into drunken stupors if they so choose and have their driver take them home.

Why are perpetual party girls driving themselves to and from parties? Is there a shortage of chauffeurs, transportation services, and/or personal assistants to get these privileged socialites to and from their destinations safely? Is it faux pas now to arrive on the social scene in a chauffeur driven whip?

I am not one to relish in the misfortunes of others, however, I do believe that justice is being served with Paris Hilton completing her sentence in jail rather than at home. If she were Shanida from the projects she would be in jail not back on the block.

House arrest would have been far too easy and reeks of preferential treatment. Regardless of how much it costs to keep Paris in jail it is the best place for her to serve her time. Allowing Paris Hilton to complete her sentence in her plush Hollywood Hills pad would have defeated the purpose of the punishment intended, impeded any real potential for learning from the situation and sent the wrong message to other celebrities and party girls!

Aside from jail being the right place for Paris Hilton to do her time, I also believe that it may actually do her some good. She's away from all the distractions, parties, red carpets, luxury, extravagance, paparazzi, and "yes" people. She may have an 'Aha moment' and gain some much needed clarity. Being confined to an uncomfortable unsightly 12-foot by 8-foot cell has been known to cause deep introspection and it happens to be California's Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation most popular recidivism reduction strategy.

At some point perpetual party girls must learn that even though they have privileged life styles they are still subject to the same laws and social responsibilities as everyone else.

These young ladies need to understand that there will be consequences and repercussions for their actions. It is time for these girls to grow up, be held accountable for their actions, stop making excuses, and begin making better decisions.

Perhaps perpetual party girls are taking heed to Paris' circumstance and are learning a valuable lesson.

Hopefully, this short traumatic jail sentence will serve as an opportunity for Paris Hilton to proactively learn from her experience, and identify areas to personally improve, develop, and grow. We might see a new and improved Paris Hilton when it is all over.
